Today I’m thrilled to be collaborating with four bloggers to bring you a whole week’s worth of ideas on how to wear stripes this season. You know me: I can’t resist a striped shirt!
Welcome to all our new friends joining us today. A quick word about me: I’m a SAHM and a personal stylist at Stitch Fix. I spend my days trying to keep up with my husband, three kiddos (ages 8, 7, & 5) and helping my clients to create the closet of their dreams! Thank you, everyone, for popping in today!
Be sure to check out Melissa at midwesternmelissa.com, Corina atnowthaticando.com/home, Laura at idodeclaire.com, and Sarah at thehautehomemaker.com to see more fabulous outfit ideas and how they’re wearing stripes this season!
Top: LOFT – out of stock but see shopping link below | Jeans: Madewell |Slides: Target | Bag: hand-me-down | Sunglasses: Target | Necklace: Stitch Fix
First: THE SHIRT.
My friend Angela pointed me to LOFT the other week when I needed fresh ideas on where to buy tops for fall and didn’t have time to shop. It’s IRONIC, I know, since I get paid to style and pick out clothes for other people! Can I say, I LOVE what LOFT is doing this season. I ordered this puff sleeve sweater – the latest “look” in sleeve design.
Here are some updated Puff Sleeved Tops.
Second: THE JEANS.
Somewhere between the last post on “3 Fall Styles Your Closet Needs” and today, Madewell had an internet sale and I bought the Madewell Kick Flare Jeans I had been ogling. I confess I’m obsessed. They feature a flattering “flattening” high rise design that holds in the mummy tummy. Achieved by sewing the pockets all the way across the front to the fly for extra support, you’ll love how these pants create a slimming silhouette – great for fall and winter layering! Not to mention they come in regular, tall, and petite sizes!
*STYLE TIPS*
Since these are cropped high rise jeans, I tucked in my top to lengthen my leg line to compensate for the inches I lost at the hem. (I’m also petite – just under 5.4″.) That and tucking tops into high rise pants is how the “fashion girls” in Paris do it. LOL. You can also do a mere front tuck.
Just for fun: I’ve added three more ways you can style this versatile top. Add visual interest with a button-up fly, colored slides, and your best sunnies for brunch with a bestie.
Top: LOFT | Jeans(old): Madewell | Slides: Target | Purse (sold out): Target |Sunglasses: Target | Bracelet: J.Crew Factory
Take this top in a more romantic direction with a flowy skirt, heels, plus a statement necklace to cozy up for an evening at the symphony, a holiday concert, or a play. Ballet anyone?
Top: LOFT | Skirt (available in wine): Uniqlo | Shoes (old): DSW | Purse (old): Target, no longer available | Necklace: gifted from ducktapeanddenim.com, no longer available | Sunglasses: Target | Beanie (old, no longer available): Marshalls.
Add a little print play to your day by teaming these two timeless looks: stripes + leopard = chic-est of chic. Ground the outfit in a pair of relaxed denim, non-fussy shoes and a classic handbag with clean lines to avoid looking overdone. Not up for fur? See links below for animal print cardigans.
Top: LOFT | Leopard Coat (runs a tad small): SheinShein | Paige Jeans: Stitch Fix, similar | Bag: hand-me-down | Booties: Similar at Amazon |Sunglasses: Target |

Wooow girl, you are amazing. Each of those outfits is swoon worthy. The ballet version! So chic. I loved your tip about tucking your shirt into high rise crops to compensate for the length lost at the hem… very smart. I’ll keep this in my for my petite readers 🙂

Ok, seriously LOVE these striped looks! That top with the balloon sleeves looks similar to a top I just got at ON recently, except I got a lavender color. I love the color of your flats. You’re a stylist at Stitch Fix? Oh my gosh, my dream job! Ha!! That fur jacket is so, so perfect!
