I think it’s wonderful to see how different women with different body shapes can work a trend. I wholeheartedly believe that EVERY body shape is beautiful and that EVERY woman has something special and gorgeous about her – no matter what age she is!
I usually wear this vest with a tee shirt and pants, but wanted to change it up and try something new. (See how I styled it with a striped top and ponte pants here or with a plain tee and jeans here.) I found this black midi dress at GAP Factory for $13. SCORE!
My vest has been an all season favorite this year and last. It’s a great add to a basic wardrobe. I usually don’t wear a necklace with it because the vest has a lot of details: epaulettes, flaps, and snap buttons on the chest and the hips, and a draw string.

This is so fun. I LOVE that you styled your vest with a dress. I have a new black t-shirt dress that is sort of lacking in shape. I think I will try it with my utility vest – and maybe my shorter denim vest too. You look great!
Thanks Jo-Lynne. I wanted to try something different. I LOVE the black midi dress. It’s the first one I’ve found that fits me right. The midi length can be challenging. I don’t think I would wear this dress without a belt. 😉

I had never, ever thought to put a utility best with a dress before!! You did it very well (plus heels!). Love how the black dress complements your hair too and contrasts with the rest of the outfit!

This was a fun collaboration idea! Your vest looks so fantastic with this dress – very classic styling (which I always favor!). And this is a random note but I love that your dress has a v-neckline. That’s my favorite type of neckline and actually quite difficult to find in a dress!
