Does this remind you of the babydoll look from the 90s? Ruffles are all the rage this season, and I love the feminine and flowy look of this top. Not to mention it flatters the midsection. (I think my apple shape is turning into an apple-pear)!
To elevate this look, I added my vintage handbag. It’s a Dofan piece, stamped inside with “made in France,” which I found at a thrift shop for about $20. I love the understated class this piece brings to an outfit. The clean lines are so timeless and chic! (Dofan produced handbags known for their fine craftsmanship between the 1940s to 1970 and are available on Ebay or Google for reasonable prices. Read more about the brand here.) I’m also wearing my accessories for last summer, a tassel necklace from Target and a wrap bracelet from Chloe & Isabel.

Recently discovered your blog and enjoying it so much. I love how you throw in vintage or thrifted items. So many blogs feature only items you can purchase at high end department stores. It is so refreshing to see simplified and affordable outfits with nice vintage touches.

Thank you, Amy! We’re so happy to have you as part of our community! I can’t afford high-end department store pieces often so I typically feature clothes I wear. LOL! xx-S

I LOVE the vintage purse, reminds me of our “church purses” when I was a kid….Doesn’t get much classier than that. Too bad the kitchen sink won’t fit, but you can’t have it both ways.

Ain’t that the truth! I wore the purse to church this past Sunday and had to leave my wallet at home and just take my driver’s license and a couple of other “essentials.” Life sure was simpler back then, wasn’t it?! xx-S

Hi Jayne, Thanks for sharing; I’m thrilled you love the shoes! Aren’t they so versatile and comfy? I think the 2-inch heel is perfect. They certainly do go with a lot of outfits and spice up a plain look! xx-S

Loving the simple chic looks for summer!

Thanks, Janet! I think I might be a little too simple…some of my outfits could use a little more accessorizing. 😉 xx-S
