I’m so happy be to be co-posting again this week, but this time with Midwestern Melissa! We’re both newbie bloggers with similar styles and life values. She does a great job of finding stylish, wearable, and budget friendly clothes.
Today we’re talking about spring sandals. Several months ago, I decided I wanted a pair of shoes with studs. I lived in the City of Angeles for 13 years and a bit of that old Hollywood glam stuck with me when I moved up to Northern California. I just love bling!
I’ve been ogling studded sandals for about 2 months, trying on every pair I could find until finally, I met the perfect pair. My feet are super flat and really wide. It’s hard to find shoes that are both comfortable and able to accommodate my extra width.
I recently discovered I’ve been wearing the wrong shoe size for decades. Sometimes I buy an 8 when I should get a 7.5 wide instead. (They hardly have “wide” in the store). Size 8 fits my width, but are usually too long. That’s also the reason I was prone to tripping. I always thought I was just clutzy!!
I’m also styling the “My Anchor Holds” necklace from Duct Tape and Denim-one of my favorites!
Last month, I finished my spring capsule at the San Fransisco Premium Outlets. I ventured into Last Call, not really expecting to buy anything, but just to look. As soon as I saw these I wanted them!! It’s hard to find shoes that don’t make my feet look big or squish my toes.
When I took them up to the register, the very sleek and stylish clerk examined the shoes and exclaimed, “Oh I have the Valentino ones and these look exactly the same. You can’t even tell the difference!”; I replied, “Oh, yes!“, pretending to know what Valentino shoe she was talking about.
I love that these sandals make my feet look sleek and narrow, rather than big and fat!
I love these sandals because they are ultra versatile and comfortable. I can wear them with jeans, dresses, and skirts. These were my one investment item for the season. The last pair of sandals I purchased, I had for 4 years. Last spring, I got one more season out of them by hot gluing the sole back on!
