Romantic Style-Last Saturday, we had the joy of attending a wedding with a gorgeous outside reception. It was an honor to witness the young bride and groom committing their lives to each other before God and all their friends and family. A sweet detail about the couple was that about 20 years ago, our pastor dedicated them both as babies on the same day.
I thought that was a wonderfully romantic story and wanted to wear something to reflect the sweetness of their relationship. Since it was a daytime wedding, I picked this romantic style dress. I had purchased it a couple years ago for a bridal shower I was asked to share a short devotional for. This bride was a friend of the family, so this dress has a sweet memory attached to it.
The romantic style is characterized by pastel colors, (especially all versions of white: bone, ivory, eggshell, off-white, vanilla, cream, etc.) light and airy fabrics including tulle, crochet, and lace, and feminine floral prints. Don’t forget to include pearls and shabby chic antique details in your accessories.

Romantic Style Details
I love lace details. I think my personal style is a mixture of preppy, chic, and classic with a touch of romance. This Asli perforated whipstitch wallet adds a gorgeous pop of color. I especially like the lace cut out details. (Now on sale for $20.00).

COMMENT OF THE WEEK:
“You look so pretty in this dress! And what fun sandals, too. I totally agree with you about our casual California culture! It’s so rare for people to dress up for anything other than a black tie event around here. I know my style has changed since moving from Seattle to SoCal. It’s definitely more casual, and I do miss dressing up a bit!” GINA
Gina, thank you for your comment on my spring party dress. Californians are pretty casual, but it doesn’t take a lot of effort to look pulled together and ready for the day. I think you do a great job of demonstrating that with the daily outfits on your blog, On The Daily Express.

This is a great dress for so many special occasions during warmer weather! The cut would flatter many body shapes, and the romantic style of it adds a nice feminine touch. It’s nice to see a style that embraces femininity and has that touch of sweetness! You really pull it all together nicely with the nude heels and accessories. It’s hard to find modest, comfortable, and yet flattering clothing for the warmer months, but this one hits the mark!
Shannon says
Thank you Sunshine! I like the length of the dress. It’s hard to find that longer length these days. 🙂 xx-S

Well I’m very flattered to make comment of the week! But it’s easy to find something to say when you wear such pretty dresses like this! The wedding sounds very nice (beautiful scenery!) and that is so cool that they were dedicated on the same day. What a fun coincidence.

Shannon, as you know I am a huge fan of your style especially the dresses you wear. This romantic blush dress is no exception. I love the detailing and color it has. The perfect clutch and wedges to go with it, for a wedding. And what a sweet story about the couple. I am wearing dresses featuring lace and crochet, all first week of June, too. =)
Come join my brand-new linkup this week. A new linkup is up every Thursday. Thanks, Ada. =)
