Outfit #12 of the Winter Outfit Challenge
Today wraps up the How to Wear Your Favorite Plaid Shirt mini-series and the Winter Outfit Challenge. Taking an extended time from shopping taught me how to think more critically about what makes a good outfit. I had to deep dive into my closet and find new combinations I haven’t tried or worn for a while to keep my old pieces from feeling au courant.
Have you noticed the 70’s vibe is having a moment? Flare jeans are a groovy look and something different you can try to break up your go-to skinny jeans style uniform. See more on How To Find Your Perfect Flare Jeans by body shape with tips on what to wear them with!
I added a braided belt to my outfit to incorporate texture and visual interest. The suede booties compliment the look and the camel coat, a style staple, pulls it together perfectly!

Today’s comment comes from Carrie of Curly Crafty Mom on my post How To Wear Your Favorite Plaid Top: Part 2
The plaid shirt is so cute and gives a bit of color and interest to that neutral sweater. I love the little pom poms on the sweater, too!
Neutral sweaters are great for mixing and matching and cross over multiple seasons. Poms are polka dots are a fun trend I’m enjoying. Not only that, polka dot prints are predicted to proliferate even more in spring & summer. I can’t wait to see how my fashion peeps style them in the coming months!

I love this look and I actually can recreate it (similar, anyway) from my closet! I don’t think I’ve ever worn my plaid shirts with my flare jeans or my beige boots and I’m going to give it a try because it looks so stylish on you! I have a very similar coat but it’s red and I think I can work that one into the set. Thank you so much for this wonderful style inspiration!

That belt looks great with these jeans! I don’t usually wear belts but think they look great on others!

Thanks, Melissa. Maybe you just haven’t found the right belt yet! You’ll know it when you see it. 😉

Shannon, I love this look! I don’t wear my flare jeans nearly enough! I do love the vintage vibe they create. And you are so cool and edgy in yours with this adorable plaid shirt and camel overcoat. Well done! Thanks for linking up. I have been on vacation so I am just now getting around to commenting from 2 weeks ago.

I love that coat and I think your plaid shirt works so well with these flared jeans – the boots are perfect too! 🙂
Hope that you had a lovely weekend 🙂 We had a quiet one at home.

Thank you, I love trying new ways to style those flare jeans. The plaid and flares remind me of my father’s clothes from the 70’s. hee hee.

Nicely worn.
I have to admit as much as I like your plaid shirt, I need a pair of jeans like yours 🙂

Hi Lorena! Thanks for stopping by. These jeans certainly are fun. I loved wearing them in the mid 2000’s and am so glad they are back. I can’t believe it’s been that long! Have a great week!
