Walmart + Target Staples
Summer is wrapping up over here. Don’t know about you, but I haven’t done much shopping lately. Time to get creative in the closet. When I get dressed, I first assess my mood and then how I want to feel. I select pieces that will support where I’m at emotionally/mentally and if I want a boost to shift my mental state, I use color psychology to select colors that will help enhance the mood or type of day I want to have.
For this outfit, I started with the green Walmart dress. Since I’m triangle-shaped, a-line designs belts are more flattering for my figure than shift styles so I added a belt. This thin belt looks better higher up to create a 1:2 outfit ratio proportion- drawing the eye upward giving the illusion of height.
I’ve had the yellow belt for years and years. Most people don’t think to add yellow to their closet but it’s a great accent piece that can elevate your outfits and give just the right amount of pop without being too bright.
I also wanted to wear casual heels so opted for these popular wedge sandals from Target. I pulled the outfit together with the fun floral printed dome purse. It has both yellow and soft orange bring the earrings and belt together for a cohesive outfit.
I wanted to match my “chill” mood so I chose a calming green color, but then wanted to brighten it up a little so the small pops of color were just the right amount to keep the outfit cheerful. This is a go-to outfit for showers and church.
