“I’m starting to feel washed out,” is a conversation that comes up often in my petite styling world.
As we mature our coloring becomes less saturated and we either start coloring or join the silver revolution.
Both are great options.
However, 2 things often happen.
ONE: Your hair stylist can tone you the wrong color = actually washing you out. (It happens all the time. This isn’t their fault. They are trained in color theory, not color analysis.)
The solution is to make sure they are toning and or coloring you according to your correct undertone.
TWO: You join the silver revolution and as your hair lightens you feel washed out and become uncertain about what the right colors to wear are now that your hair color has changed.
This becomes super tricky if you are someone who tends to default to neutrals or wear a lot of black. But now you’re feeling like these colors – or lack of color, isn’t what you want anymore.
