5 Outfits in 5 Days
Day 2
Today is a chillaxing day. Yesterday, Hubbs and I left the kids at home and drove like mad to our winter wonderland retreat site. Today is our day to rest and amp up for the weekend’s events before our peeps arrive later this evening.
We will be meeting with the hotel coordinator, chatting by the ginormous outside fire pit, reading, blogging, and squeezing in a little air hockey (and I mean a little because it costs 4 quarters a round–what happened to the $.25 arcade games?!?).
Today I have a simple jeans, t-shirt and scarf ensemble. Easy peasy! You can do this. For visual interest, I am mixing a stripe print with a big colorful plaid. (See 6 fool proof ways to mix your prints.) My personal new trend is hats. Some advice my husband gave me when we first got married was, “Why don’t you just wear a hat everyday instead of doing your hair–that’s what guys do!” I resisted. 3 kids later I saw the wisdom of his words.
Today you will see two new items in my winter wardrobe. I typically don’t shop mid-season once the capsule is done, but… 1. I didn’t evaluate my shoes well enough when I did the capsule and felt like something was missing–so I added the black booties. 2. I received a generous gift card to Banana Republic for Christmas and loved the $12 striped shirt steal I found. (I am a recovering striped shirt addict and could not resist.)
Conductor cap: Target (last year)
Cotton striped shirt: Banana Republic
Blanket scarf: Target (This was a birthday/christmas gift from a bestie. She saw how monochromatic my wardrobe was and thought it needed a pop of color. Love it!)
