Welcome to Day 4 of the 30 Winter Outfits Challenge! If you’ve just joined us, you can read about the challenge HERE & why I’m not shopping for 30 Days!
There is a “newish” French bakery in downtown called Cocola I absolutely adore! It reminds me of Paris with its cafe tables and white and yellow chairs. The ladies who work there are even from Paris. Maria who has attended me each time I’ve visited always wears a black top with a silk neckerchief scarf. As my kids say, “For reals, MOM!“
Parisian Style Trench Coat Outfit
The scarf in today’s outfit was a gift from Sezane in my fall order. When your buy pieces from France you often get a gift along with it. Sometimes it’s a small cloth bag, a sweater comb, or a scarf.
Maria inspired Outfit #4. It’s a go-to for me – especially on a busy morning. I’ve worn my trench coat each time I’ve visited Cocola. On the last trip, my 8-year-old daughter wore hers too. We were quite a pair.

I love my trench and wear it all fall into winter. (It’s been in the high 50’s here so I can get away with wearing a sweater and a light coat.) You can easily make this outfit warmer by adding a thick sweater and opting for a wool trench for those of living in colder climates. Although the trend is longer, midi-length coats, my petite stature looks better, and taller, in a mid-thigh length. See how I styled my old trench coat back in 2016 or How to find the best trench for your body shape.
I am slowly adding more Parisian pieces to my closet. The purse was a 10-year anniversary gift I picked out on our trip to Europe in 2017. I looked for something practical and classic I could use for years to come. Each time I take it out with me, it reminds me of our special trip – and Paris of course!
Since I’m re-wearing old pieces for this series most of my items are out of stock. The trench coat is a best seller from H&M last year. The Madewell booties were purchased last winter and are fun because you can wear them folded or unfolded. I bought the jeans from KUT via Stitch Fix several years ago. Underneath the jacket I’m wearing a tank with a built-in bra from Uniqlo. (I live in these with sweaters in the winter.) I’ve linked similar items to this outfit for you to get the look.

Thank you so much, Katerina. I don’t think trench coats will ever go out of style – ever. I’m so glad I snagged this one from H&M because it went out of stock soon after. Where did you get your trench from?

I absolutely agree that a classic khaki trenchcoat is a wardrobe essential! Loving how you added a silk scarf to your outfit for a pop of color. 🙂

Thanks, Amber. This outfit really needed a pop of color and I thought the scarf was the perfect accent for it. Hope you’re having a great weekend and thank you for stopping by!

I love that the lady in the bakery wears a black top with a scarf! That definitely gives it a more “real” feel – good businessperson! I love the trench coat (I don’t have one currently but I really need to get one) and the scarf around the neck makes the outfit. I wish I’d remember to put a scarf on with some of my outfits :/ I’m the worst about accessorizing. What a great bag that is, too! I think that’s a wonderful idea to commemorate somewhere you’ve been that you always want to remember. You did a great job with this look – it’s just perfect!

Thank you, Ruth. I have a hard time remembering to accessorize, too. That is one thing I’ve learned so far this first week of the Winter Outfits Series. I’m hoping to put forth a little more effort in putting together simple but complete outfits in my daily life. Yes, Maria always wears a black top and a chic neckerchief scarf every time I’ve seen her.

Shannon, this is such a chic look! I love your trench coat. I have recently been finding myself looking very Parisian by accident. I think it is because I wear a lot of berets in the winter time. It is a really fun and sophisticated style genre though. Your whole outfit is on point! Thanks for linking up.

I love wearing hats. They are a great time saver if my hair is wonky and I have to run out the door. I love your outfits with berets. I don’t have one yet but hope to fine one before spring!
