I just got back from Hawaii last weekend. 5 days in O’ahu without kids. Just the hubby and me. Yep, it was a slice of heaven. But it also got me thinking about ya’ll. I’m sure most of you have plans that involve packing a suitcase and traveling somewhere, whether it be a weekend get-a-away or heading off to another country, I thought it’d be helpful to send you a basic packing list. BTW: This is going to be at least a two-parter series. I have too much to say to jam into one post.
I don’t know about you, but I HATE packing. I like the idea of traveling light, but I also like my options. Two things that don’t come together in a carryon. Ha! (No matter how well I think I pack, I ALWAYS forget something: my Carmex lip balm for Hawaii, which I absolutely cannot live without, and my toothbrush the trip before).
I’VE PUT TOGETHER MINI CAPSULES BASED ON BODY SHAPE.
GIRL! I got you covered. (This post does not include shoes or accessories *sorry* hopefully, I can chat about those in the future.) My friend Midwestern Melissa recently wrote about summer shoes & bags I thought would go perfectly with my 8 piece capsules!
This list is easy to customize so, please, make it your own. Here are a couple of tips to:
PACKING YOUR PERFECT SUITCASE
First, determine what the climate will be. Second, pack pieces you like, no LOVE, to wear. Are you a shorts/ jeans gal versus dresses/skirts lady? You can easily swap out a dress for another pair of pants, or shorts for another skirt. Not planning to go out to dinner or dress up? Ditch the blouse for another tank or tee. Own it!
SUMMER VACATION PACKING LIST:
- Dress or Jumpsuit
- T-shirt
- Tank
- Blouse
- Skirt
- Shorts
- Capri Pants
- Lightweight Cardigan
See each Summer Capsule by body shape and find styles that are perfect for you!See other capsules: APPLE, PEAR HOURGLASS, INVERTED TRIANGLE or RECTANGLE.
NOT SURE? See the BODY SHAPE CALCULATOR.
Happy Shopping and Bon Voyage!
