Spring Capsule Preview

Here is a sneak preview of my spring capsule.  Above are outfits from this week. Before the rain, we had a warm spell, so I swapped flannel shirts and dark jeans for lighter colors.

This year we’ve had a lot more rain than last year, so I made sure to have an ample amount of pants.  Last year I did a 10 Item Wardrobe for spring and summer combined. This year I wanted to do two separate capsules for each. My shopping list was small: white skinnies, light colored skinnies, midi skirt, spring jacket and some shoes. I’ve had a military/field/utility jacket on my wish list for a couple of years and finally purchased this utility jacket at GAP.

I’m a huge fan of the slim boyjeans from Madewell.  I purchased mine at the end of the season last year and have been impressed with it’s quality. These jeans will last several years and retain their shape. I think, only those with 0-5% body fat on their lower half look good in a true boyfriend cut, because the way bagginess on the backside is suppose to sag, widens your hips and rear. But, the slim boyfriend or girlfriend cut, can be flattering for more women.

Most gals roll up boyfriend jeans, but I like them un-cuffed because it elongates my leg line and feels so…..”laissez-faire.” I also like a full tuck-in with a slim fitting button down for a Euro-Chic look. I offset the masculine shape with leopard heels.

All my tops are from last year to three years ago. So far I’m still looking for the right midi skirt and possibly some sandals. I would love to hear your suggestions.
