One accessory I’ve consistently seen pop up on style blogs in fall is the plaid scarf, so I was thrilled to find one at Ross for $6.00. Even better, it was a set of two: one red and navy plaid paired with a solid navy. Since my fall wardrobe is mostly solids, dominantly black, I thought red would brighten it up nicely.
It’s also fun to break the traditional faux pas of combining black and navy. (If you are hesitant, try it with a bright navy to start.) You can also mix plaid with a striped shirt as seen above. For a safer bet, layer over a solid as seen below. Since plaid is a traditional fall print, a scarf is an easy way to update your wardrobe with minimal cash or commitment.
