Outfit #6 of the 30 Winter Outfits Challenge.
I currently have three everyday dresses in my closet and this midi dress by Sézane is my favorite. The other two are from Marshals. My MO for shopping last year was to invest in a couple of high-quality pieces each season and round out the rest with budget-friendly items from thrift shops, consignment stores, sales, etc.

Sezane is currently one of my favorite brands. I love designer Morgane Sézalory’s concept behind the line. “Created in 2013, Sézane was born from a desire to offer women the finest quality pieces with a Parisian touch.”
Focusing on quality, savior – faire (a french phrase that means being adaptable and adroit, knowing what to do in any situation), and the perfect cut, Morgane’s aim is to make french style accessible to women all over the world. “Je ne sais quoi, for all” is her motto.
A small collection of these vintage-inspired pieces are released throughout the season online and in stores. Popular items can sell out within hours.
Quality & Cost Per Wear
The average cost for each piece is $125. That includes free shipping and returns to the US from Pairs. As a budget-conscious consumer, it took me a while to swallow paying that much for one item. However, after taking into consideration cost-per-wear, I’ve come to appreciate the value in the quality of each piece.
There is a remarkable difference in the quality of the fabrication, design, and feel, between this dress and my other two Marshalls dresses. Consequently, I foresee this dress lasting me many seasons to come while the other two might make it through another season.
Comment of the Day
Today’s comment comes from Amber of avecamber.com on the post Trench Coat Parisian Style:
I absolutely agree that a classic khaki trench coat is a wardrobe essential! Loving how you added a silk scarf to your outfit for a pop of color. 🙂I hope you are having a fabulous week so far!
Thank you, Amber. Trench coats are on the rise in popularity. Furthermore, the long trench is trending hot this winter. That said, I have a classic long black coat from 2005 I hope to style on the blog in the new few weeks.

Thanks, Nancy. I’ve been learning to take my own photos so sometimes I’m so focused on getting good pictures and different poses that I forget about smiling and my expressions. LOL. Glad you enjoyed the post.

This dress is so flattering on you! I love how you added the belt to define the waist and accentuate your shape.

Adding a belt is one of the most flattering styles for dresses and skirts on my pear shape so I’ve been experimenting more with adding a belt to my outfits lately. Thanks for stopping by!

What a gorgeous dress and it’s so flattering on you – you look beautiful! Yes, I’d definitely spend $125 on a piece I loved. Not very often, but certainly once every year or two. I have a couple of midis in my closet, one of which I’ve worn with ankle boots and do like that look, but I’ll bet it would be even better with my knee-length boots. Thank you for the inspiration!

Thanks, Ruth. I adore this dress. I need to experiment with what other winter boots I can wear with it. I haven’t tried booties yet but I will see if I have some that work. Perhaps the lace-up style?
