HUNTER BOOTS — I love these rain boots I received for Christmas. Can you believe I’ve never bought a pair of rain boots before this winter? Where I’ve lived in California (both Northern and Southern), I haven’t really needed them. Our rainy season is pretty short. I could avoid the rain by running to my car and back when necessary. Now with three kids and school drop off and pick ups, I find myself getting a little more wet. This is an investment piece for me, and I was able to use my Christmas cash. The one’s I’m styling: Original Refined Tall Glass Rain Boots in black are on sale. See HERE – click on the color black to see the sale price.
I also ADORE my new Tahari wrap coat. (Also on sale!) I throw this baby on almost every day when I run out the door. I like its soft wool blend fabrication: lightweight and ultra soft, not heavy and itchy. It’s like a cozy warm blanket or a snuggly robe, except much more chic looking! I bought mine from Macy’s at a discount price. But Nordstrom offers it in petite sizes – if I had known that beforehand, I would have purchased mine there! The lowest price is found at Last Call Neiman Marcus ($87.75) You can wear the draped collar higher and not as flared as I have it. (See the fit models on the shopping links.)

Here in the PNW, Hunter boots are pretty much standard issue and we wear them so much! Love how you have styled them with that amazing jacket and that great bag!

So glad you’re back and love the coat ! I went to the Nordstrom site intending to purchase. However, the reviews are mixed with lots of complaints about the coat being itchy and hard to put on because of it’s lack of lining. The Macy’s site had many similar comments. I still may try it because it’s so darn cute. Would be curious as to your feelings about the poor reviews.

I haven’t found the coat to be itchy, but if you are super sensitive, I can see how it would be. I haven’t had difficulty putting it on either. I recommend trying it on and wear it for awhile to see what you think. The draped can be floppy, but it doesn’t bother me either. 😉 xx-S

Black rain boots are a great item to have in your wardrobe. I love the pair I got a couple of years ago. They are so great for rainy days, and I also pair them with fleece liners for snowy days. -Melissa
