This month I really wanted to challenge myself not to buy any new pieces…except I just blew a hole in the side of my favorite booties. Besides that, I’m committed to wearing and re-wearing what’s already in my closet.
To get the ball rolling, I’ve decided to kick off a 10X10 capsule series. 10 pieces (minus shoes and accessories) to wear for the next two weeks Monday thru Friday.
I’ll be posting my daily outfits on my Instagram account so check in at @gamineandstripes and #fall10x10challenge for inspiration by other bloggers and friends on how they wear their 10 pieces! I’d LOVE for you to join me and even post your pictures on Instagram at #fall10x10challenge!
See my 10 items below and plan your own mini capsule this weekend then be ready to rock the next two weeks in simplicity & style!
Here are the 10 items I grabbed from my closet:
I confess this is not my most glamorous work/photography. But one of my mottos in life is SOMETHING is better than nothing an if I tried to get everything perfect this post would NEVER have gotten done.
The 10 Pieces are:
1 Leopard Faux Fur Jacket (Shein)
1 Ivory Chunky Knit Cardigan (Rouje, my latest splurge/birthday present to myself.)
1 Ivory Textured Pullover Sweater (Zara child size 11-12yrs)
1 Hunter Green and Navy Plaid Buttondown (old, Rails “Spruce White” from Saks Off 5th now available at Nordstrom)
1 Black Crewneck Bubble Sleeve Top (GAP, no longer available in black.)
1 Camel Cashmere Crewneck (Saks Off 5th, on sale: “Honey, cashmere is ALWAYS a good idea!”)

How does the Zara sweater run? I’m concerned about sizing in the chest area. Excuse my typis!
Shannon says
Zara sweater is a child size and it runs SUPER large for a child. I normally wear a size xs in womens and this one is a size 12-13 for girls. It’s a great example of thinking outside the box when it comes to shopping. I don’t normally shop in the girl’s department, but I was looking for my daughter and it caught my eye. I noticed how oversized it was and gave it a go. The only way to know is to try it on. I’m small chested (32 B) so I think that’s why it works for me. It’s a looser style so it might work for you depending your size. 😉 xx-S
