5 Days 5 Outfits
Day 5
Today is our last day! We are driving back to the Bay Area. I’m sad to say goodbye to our little series. If I was going to be stepping off a plane from Paris to San Francisco (or driving home in our beloved green Honda beater car) this is what I would be wearing. Black. Comfy…. Cozy…. Black.
I love to wear black. My husband loves me in black. It’s my “go to” comfort color. I feel bloated–wear black. I feel rushed–wear black. I feel stressed–wear black. It’s gonna be a crazy day and I want to feel like “The Boss Lady”–I wear black.
I always throw my black v-neck cashmere into the suitcase last minute whenever I travel. It’s light, soft, and ultra comfortable. As much as I want to pack minimalistic style, I have a “….just in case I might need it or want to wear it,” syndrome. Babies have their binkys, toddlers have their blankies, the chic mama has her black cashmere. I don’t plan on wearing it but somehow it always ends up in the rotation-for a romantic dinner out, site seeing, catching a movie, or taking the kids to the park, etc.
I intended to wear the blush tunic shirt (seen here and here this week) but it just wasn’t fresh enough for a 3rd wear. My back up? Comfy cashmere. I also adore this fur snood from Target. (If you’ve been following my 5 Outfits in 5 Days series you will have noticed most of my accessories come from Target.) If you’re going to wear fur, a snowy location is the most fashionably appropriate location. Don’t you think? To complete the “chic” traveler look are the big “off-set star” sunglasses….also from Target.
