Outfit #5 of the Winter Outfits Challenge
Today, I’m styling a color block sweater with my Chelsea rain boots. Colorblock sweaters started becoming popular last year so I grabbed this one from Stitch Fix in my fall box. I confess I wear this sweater on repeat quite a bit. But it has me rethinking quality because it pills so easily and even after shaving, it doesn’t look as nice as my higher-quality cashmere pieces.
When visited the flagship Top Shop in London in August 2017 I noticed they were selling classic black Chelsea boots and I fell in love with the look. I purchased a pair of Chelsea rainboots from JCrew Factory but I’m not sure I recommend them. The foot cushion doesn’t seem to go all the way to the edge of the boot inside. I’m sure the regular JCrew brand would be better and can be purchased on Amazon.
We don’t get a ton of downpour so I wanted something I could quickly pull on that wasn’t full rainboot like my Hunters. I find I wear them on non-rainy days quite a bit!

Comment of the day
Today’s comment is from Mica from Away From The Blue on the 30 Winter Outfits Challenge:
This is such a great idea for a challenge! I did buy a few things in the post Christmas sales but I’m trying to be good and just enjoy what I have now – plus I have a few pieces I’m close to 30 wears with and I really want to hit that wear count on them this year so I can feature them in my 30 ways to wear monthly posts! Good luck with your challenge! 🙂
Hope that you are having a lovely weekend 🙂 It’s rainy here but the rain is so welcome!
Thank you, Mica! I think we all took advantage of the after Christmas sales! There were good deals to be had. I think moving into the challenge post the holiday sales makes it a lot easier since most of us have a few new pieces to play with. Thanks for joining us!

I so enjoy your posts and love your style. I will be holding you up in prayer this weekend, and that God will speak through your husband and you to all who hear. Blessings Robin

Thank you so much, Robin. We actually have a retreat speaker – our Global Missions Director is teaching this weekend. It’s a little much for my husband to run the retreat and teach at the same time. 😉 Hoping I can feel better and jump in before the weekend ends. So far, I’m chilling in the hotel catching up on Bible Study homework. Thanks for popping in and I hope you have a relaxing weekend.

That sweater is beautiful and I love the boots! I know what you’re saying about the sweater pilling, though. I’m working through getting one shaved that I just got. I washed it and it pilled 🙁 I love it so I’ll work with it, but if I wash it inside out and it pills again, it’ll get relegated to the work shirt pile. I have a pair of duck boots (got them on sale at Target – talk about a score) that I keep forgetting I have. They’re really cute and I need to wear them on wet days and during the winter months when I can get away with it. You’ve pulled together another great look and you look just gorgeous in it. I hope you’re feeling better today.

I also have a pair of duck boots from Target several years back. I like wearing them for the rain and light snow as well. They are pretty classic but also that style is popular right now too!
